|We achieved this award in 2011 for our whole school implementation of De Bono's six hat thinking method.||
We are the first school in Northern Ireland to have achieved 'Thinking School' status, accredited by the Cognitive Education Centre at the University of Exeter.
Extra Curricular Awards
|Our school has achieved the International School Award recognising our efforts to include an international dimension to life in our school.|
|In Ballymena Primary School health is extremely important and we aim to educate the children on being healthy through a range of curricular and extra-curricular activities e.g. healthy breaks, after-school clubs, visits from outside agencies and PDMU.|
|In 2012 the school was awarded the NAACE ICT Mark recognising our continuing commitment to excellent ICT.|
|In Ballymena Primary School we value the rights of children and they form an important part of our curriculum. The children create class charters and investigate the UNCRC and how it affects them. They also have the opportunity to be part of our school council each year representing their peers.|
|In 2015/16 we participated in the Global Learning Programme for schools.|
