A child who knows and feels that they are safe, is a child who is ready to learn. For that reason, Pastoral Care at Ballymena Primary School is of vital importance; it is an essential part of our school.

Specialised staff such as the Nurture Team ensure that children can express their voice, their worries and any anxieties they may have and they can do so within in a safe and nurturing environment.

Specific programmes are individualised to allow children's emotional needs to be met. These programmes apply to children of all abilities and ensure that they are in an environment which will help them to bring out the best version of themselves and reach their potential academically.

We run a whole school programme for every class  which teaches children the essential elements needed for finding happiness e.g. connection with others, gratitude and a sense of achievement.
